FAQ

Is formatting kept?

Paragraphs, headings, bold and italic, font sizes, colours, indents, centring and images are carried over. Columns, ruled tables and charts are simplified: the text survives, the styling may differ.

Can I convert a scanned PDF to Word?

A scan has no text, only pictures of pages, so it becomes a Word document of page images. Editable text from a scan needs OCR, which PDFKilo does not do yet.

Does it open in Google Docs and Pages?

Yes. DOCX opens in Microsoft Word, Google Docs, Pages, LibreOffice and WPS Office.

Which languages work?

Any: Latin, Cyrillic and other scripts come through as normal text you can edit and search.

Is my file uploaded?

No. Conversion runs in your browser and the PDF never leaves your device, which matters for contracts and personal papers.

Is it free?

Yes, with no sign-up, no watermarks and no file limits. Ads keep the site running.
